K/O completed a design for a new 100,000 square foot Expo Building on the grounds of the Archer Complex, home of the Laramie County Fairgrounds in Cheyenne, Wyoming. To fund the project Laramie County used K/O’s drawings to pass Proposition 4, a one penny sales tax increase that approved funding for the $10 million multi-purpose event facility. Construction is underway and is slated to be complete for the 2019 Laramie County Fair.
The building allows the County to host the annual Laramie County Fair at one site and will have nearly three times the amount of rental space as other local venues. The goal is to attract new conventions, trade shows and concerts. The new structure will have an estimated $10 million a year in direct, indirect and induced spending, including $1.6 million in spending from outside of Laramie County, good for some $360,000 in annual sales tax revenue.
