Historically the only remnant still standing from the very first Pierce County Fair is the dilapidated wooden structured round barn located on the west central side of the grounds. Endangered in the state of Wisconsin as a building type and placed on the Historic Register the County already understood its significance. Working with the Fair Board and County Commissioners K/O proposed a master plan that restored this fascinating wood structure of a bygone era and made it the central focus of the property. All new roads in and all existing roads were realigned to direct towards the round barn building. Conversely all loop roads and pathways were designed to radiate from it as their central focal point.
The plan focused on creating a new grandstand and entertainment venue, as well as expanded livestock facilities. Other enhancements include expanded livestock facilities, a new outdoor warm-up arena, tree lined walkways, and image improvements throughout.
